    Tornado in Norton

A friend of mine had to detour around Norton. She said people were saying a tornado hit the Glass Slipper, WAXM and the flower shop. She said she could see the back of the radio station and part of it was completely down. Couldn't see anything else.

Possible tornado hitting downtown Harlan with today's storms and doing some damage.

    Re: Tornado in Norton

There had been a rumored tornado sighting in Pardee, but that has not been confirmed.
The damage to the 700s block of Park Avenue (Glass Slipper to Friendly Floral) was wind damage. Friendly Floral was on the receiving end of the bulk of the damage (kind of a domino effect). No tornado there.

Harlan did get hit bad, no confirmation of tornado there yet either. Wind damage was pretty severe.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

WJHL showing a good bit of damage in Johnson City with people saying they saw a tornado roll through there. Along with the other reports nothing confirmed there yet either.

Looks like the survey teams for the NWS will be busy.

    Re: Tornado in Norton

Yeah I would imagine that what hit Norton was a "downburst" more than likely. A block back there were multiple trees down in yards, etc.
